Kalamazoo Valley Community College is a comprehensive, fully accredited, public, two-year college in Kalamazoo, MI. The College seeks applications from individuals who are interested in a transformational leadership opportunity as KVCC’s Vice President for Information Technologies. The person in this position would be responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the operational, financial and personnel activities of Information Technologies at the college. This would include instructional computing, administrative computing, network, systems and technologies.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership for assigned units.
  • Prepare annual operating budget recommendations for assigned units and functions.
  • Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets.
  • Develop, implement and administer Information Technologies policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Hire, orient, train and evaluate departmental employees directly or through supervisory staff.
  • Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resource Department to develop effective human resource practices.
  • Coordinate departmental activities with other institutional offices/administrators.
  • Provide assistance to requesting departments.
  • Represent the department in meetings involving institutional, community or state representatives.
  • Provide leadership in the long range planning for information technologies.
  • Implement and administer campus wide, appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Advise and consult with administrators and employees regarding systems and services.
  • Advise the President on matters regarding assigned functions/departments.

  • Working with vendors providing products and services.

Minimum Qualifications:
A combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a master’s degree with six years of related experience and three years of supervisory experience.

Work Hours:
Core business hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Attending College and community special events will require evening and weekend hours.
