Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will organize, implement and direct facility maintenance operations and activities at all Midland College campuses.
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor supervises a team of maintenance technicians, regularly inspects sites, prepares efficient work schedules, and assigns specific duties as they arise.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree and five (5) years of working experience in facility management; or High School Diploma and ten (10) years of working experience in facility management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related maintenance experience
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans and specifications
Strong background and understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building repairs
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Computer literacy to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed in the state of Texas as either a Master Electrician or Master Plumber 
College Degree and ten (10) years of experience in maintenance and management of facilities, physical plant and related service contracts 
Experience with distributed power systems, central plant heating and cooling operations, and plumbing systems

Essential Functions

Supervise a maintenance staff of up to 12 employees 
Be readily available after hours to answer phone calls and/or respond to onsite operational emergencies 
Coordinate with contractors in performing and providing contract facility maintenance services 
Plan, prioritize, assign, review, and participate in the work of technicians responsible for facility maintenance 
Investigate building complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints 
Establish and carry out preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment, mechanical equipment and facility maintenance activities 
Coach maintenance technicians in repair and installation of different building systems 
Identify potential building infrastructure problems and recommend possible solutions 
Organize all maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment for efficient inventory control 
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Frequently use muscles to lift, push, pull, move or carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds 
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time 
Frequently ascends/descends a ladder for various maintenance tasks 
Frequently operates motorized equipment or machinery
Ability to make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls 
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out 
Use of manual dexterity; use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects; use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects 
Constantly positions self for various maintenance tasks to include under equipment and/or in small spaces 
The person in this position needs to frequently move or drive to/from various locations on and off campus 
The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information 
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions 
Ability to drive a vehicle

Min Salary

$59,175 per year (annualized salary)

Max Salary

$64,350 per year (annualized salary)

Pay Statement

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
