Position Description


Together, the Borniger, Lukey, and Janowitz laboratory at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) offer a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher, with strong experimental and analytical skills, to investigate the reciprocal interaction of sleep and cancer progression.
You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of basic researchers and clinicians studying tumor-host interactions, using integrative techniques from neuroscience, endocrinology, metabolomics, and immunology to dissect the mechanisms connecting sleep disruption with aberrant metabolic and immune responses during cancer progression.
We are looking for candidates who will develop their own research questions in line with the overarching goals of this program. Substantial resources will be available to the selected candidate, including state-of-the-art laboratory space and the opportunity to discuss science in a diverse and supportive environment. Opportunities to develop skills in the use of murine models of cancer, advanced microscopy, optogenetics/chemogenetics, metabolomics, and biostatistics will be available.

Position Requirements


Education: A doctoral degree in the field of cancer biology, immunology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related discipline is required.
Experience/Skills: The candidate should be scientifically curious with an ability to advance their research interests creatively as part of a collaborative team. Experience of working with animal models of diseases is required. Working knowledge of physiology, neuroscience, immunology, metabolism, endocrinology, and/or biochemistry is preferred.
