The Janowitz Laboratory at CSHL is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and interactive postdoctoral researcher with strong experimental and analytical skills to contribute to research on the connectivity of the host response to cancer. We employ pre-clinical and clinical research to develop and test new treatment strategies and to discover fundamental biological interactions between tumors and host organ systems.
We are looking for candidates interested in developing their own research question in alignment with the interests and skills present in the laboratory and institution. The selected candidate will be provided significant resources, including access to state-of-the-art laboratory space and the opportunity to discuss science in a relaxed and diverse atmosphere defined by constructive critical appraisal. Opportunities to learn about model systems of disease, advanced microscopy, genetic engineering, new sequencing techniques, bioinformatics, translational science, and statistical analyses will be provided.
Environment
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned biomedical research institution in New York. It has shaped contemporary biomedical research and is the home of eight Nobel Prize laureates. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory provides a highly dynamic and interactive research environment and also a unique opportunity of timely exposure to advances in various biomedical research fields and of interaction with a broad range of researchers from all over the world through its renowned Meetings and Courses program.
We believe that science is for everyone. We have had researchers with a variety of backgrounds and believe in the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
