Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing campus leadership in the areas of new technology implementations, technology upgrades, and complex business process improvements.
This position serves as a central hub on campus in order to bring departments together and prevent the formation of business silos.
Utilizing institutional KPIs and other data this individual will partner with other campus leaders and assist them with implementing new processes or products to drive student and organizational success.
Partnering with the VP of IT and the Data Center Manager to ensure our ERP system is being operated in a manner that best serves our students and business needs.
Serving as the formal project manager for all campus software implementations and upgrades as well as other special campus projects as assigned.
Producing detailed easy-to-follow procedural documentation and business process maps.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited university
Five or more years of experience in higher education.
Experience with large organizational projects or software implementations.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Community College Experience
Experience training adult learners
Project Management Certification
Experience with any of the following applications: Jenzabar, EAB, ImageNow, Perceptive Content, Smartsheet, Microsoft Power BI
Experience serving as a project manager for multiple large projects

Essential Functions

Serve as project manager for division or campus initiatives as assigned by supervisor.
Stay informed of current and innovative technology and help to embed these technologies in the workplace and instructional support areas as appropriate.
Partner with Midland College departments in the selection of software to best serve their business needs and lead the implementation process for new software.
Be an effective manager and mentor to the employees in your area and provide them with a positive and rewarding experience in their continual career growth.
Work with users from across the college community to develop, improve, and implement their systems and business processes.
Work with outside vendors to find the most effective systems and tools to further the mission of the college.
Provide and coordinate effective training and documentation to users for the systems within the scope of the department.
Be an advocate for the innovative, effective, and efficient use of software packages across the college environment.
Provide guidance and develop efficient procedures and processes throughout the college environment.
Provide leadership within your area and be a role model for the development and on-going maintenance of documentation of procedures, policies, and guidelines for offices across the campus.
Be an active member in the campus community, serving on committees and being involved with campus activities as well as a volunteer in community activities.
Work with regional and national user groups to provide more learning experiences for the college employees.
Work to align strategic plans across campus with the technology and tools we have available. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to frequently move equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Use of manual dexterity. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive from their office to other locations on or off campus
Duties indoors and some outdoors
The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
Ability to travel, including travel to extension campuses, training, and other professional development. Travel includes local and national destinations

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary

$75,000 per year (annualized salary)

Max Salary

$80,000 per year (annualized salary)

Pay Statement

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
