Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The Department of Kinesiology offers seven academic programs and a variety of experiences for students. Our academic programs include a BS in Exercise Physiology, BS in Health Fitness Specialist, BS in Physical Education, BS in Sports Studies, MAEd in Physical Education, MS in Kinesiology and a PhD in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science. All of our programs are fully accredited. |
Job Duties | The postdoctoral scholar is primarily responsible for independent and collaborative development, implementation, and analysis of scientific research in the application of advanced quantitative designs and analysis (e.g., modern missing data handling, planned missing data design, longitudinal SEM) to the disciplines of sport/exercise/educational psychology. A primary focus will be examining the use, implementation, and breaking points of planned missing data research in the applied fields of sport/exercise/educational psychology as well as working with sport/exercise psychology quantitative databased research by conducting rigorous quantitative analyses (e.g., longitudinal and multigroup SEM, random intercept cross-lagged panel models) and/or simulation studies based on post-doc’s background as well as related literature reviews and co-authoring publications. Responsibilities include but not limited to (a) examining published handling of missing data and use of planned missing data designs in high quality journals in Sport/Exercise Psychology and Educational Psychology fields; (b) co-author articles with Dr. Whitney Moore based upon data collected above; © submit articles for review and coordinate and assist with review and revision process; and (d) collaborate and support research projects through either simulations, SEM analyses, and/or literature reviews based on background and skillset. The postdoctoral scholar will gain knowledge and publications on missing data handling techniques and planned designs, as well as practice conducting, writing, and the publication process of articles that incorporate advanced SEM models and/or simulations, as well as relevant literature reviews. Approximately 70% of the postdoctoral scholar’s time will be devoted to conducting and managing the research related to examining the use of modern and planned missing data approaches. Approximately 30 % of the postdoctoral scholar’s time will be engaged in independent and collaborative research with Dr. Whitney Moore. This position will be partially remote. |
