The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Cook 2 within Legends. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Cook 2 supports daily operations as part of the culinary production team. He/she is responsible for completing assignments related to cooking including but not limited to: grilling, stir fry, carving, deep fry, baking, and display cooking through standards of service and hospitality. As a Cook with the University of Notre Dame, you will have the opportunity to support the mission and goals of a “Best in Class” dining program. UEE serves more than 15,000 students, faculty, staff and visitors in nearly 30 different eating establishments and a variety of guests daily. This position is with University Enterprises and Events at the University of Notre Dame and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus (1/2 paid after 90 and 180 days of continuous employment). Candidates are only eligible if they are a new employee to the University – current Notre Dame employees who transfer are not eligible. Other rules and conditions apply.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-4 years professional kitchen experience required
- Relevant skills and experience applicable
- Ability to complete University Culinary assessment and UEE Global Service Standards training
Preferred Qualifications
- ServSafe
- Ability to complete basic food handler course
- Ability to obtain Knife Handling certification
