With offices, in Alexandria, VA, Brussels, Belgium and Melbourne, Australia, the Foundation conducts research, analysis and modeling to improve global aviation safety and to leverage extensive global aviation dataset to develop data-driven safety recommendations that are adopted globally.

Position Information

The Project Leader for Future Aviation System Integration will work with a multidisciplanry team of technical and operational experts in developing future concepts and architecture involving the safe integration of new entrants (drones and advanced air mobility) into the the airspace.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The Project Leader will participate and manage several efforts related to advanced aviation systems and exploration of innovations in safety capabilities. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Broad understanding of the international aviation environment and key stakeholder perspectives
  • Experience in managing teams, budgets, and multi-person projects

And be able to:

  • Lead teams and coordinate with multiple external stakeholders
  • Develop plans and strategy for project execution
  • Manage sponsor relationships and cross-organizational coordination
  • Work with international stakeholders (including multiple time zones)
  • Travel, as required, for face-to-face meetings

Education requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering, aerospace or related field; degree in aviation is acceptable
  • Preferred: Masters in engineering, aerospace or related field; degree in aviation is acceptable.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

A Bachelors degree in a field relating to data analytics, modeling and operations research is preferably in is required. Advanced degree is desirable.

Professional Experience

  • Ten years + experience in aviation modernization and design, including advanced system development, operational concept formulation, systems thinking, integration across systems, and technical architecture analysis and tradeoffs

· A minimum of 5 years of experience with the challenges on conducting analytic work assembling data from disparate sources.

· Experience in the design and establishment of frameworks and systems to integrate, harmonize and implement air traffic safety initiatives and requirements at national and internationsl levels.

· Familiarity in dealing with governmental and non?governmental entities at different levels.

Professional Experience — preferred

· Extensive knowledge of and experience in air traffic control, management and implementation of air traffic applications at international or national levels with leadership ability to plan and manage to obtain tangible results.

Language Skills

Required: Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
