Full Job Description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a dedicated team member to serve as Manager Habitat and Thrivent Partnership, to lead the highly collaborative Habitat and Thrivent Partnership team in strategic development and implementation of strategies, to achieve program objectives and ensure the Habitat and Thrivent Worldwide program continues to meet the evolving needs of Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent.

This position can be remotely based requiring 30% travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps to grow organizational acumen by developing program strategies and translating them into actionable tactics. Builds, maintains, and provides leadership to a high-performing team by selecting, developing, and directing activities to ensure flawless execution of program tactics.
  • Participates in and provides leadership to cross- (with Thrivent) and intra- (within HFHI) organizational teams building strong relationships and effective communication and work management strategies with program partners assuring that the processes and tactics used drive effective program execution and enhanced business results for all stakeholders.
  • Oversees day-to-day execution of the program. Pays attention to the details, manages key processes, makes sure all moving parts are working together and happening at the right times and places for program to be executed as seamlessly as possible for all key program customers and stakeholders and program operates within budget.
  • Apply strategic thinking and a continuous improvement (Voice of Customer) mindset to enhance programmatic benefits for key stakeholders and keep program relevant for both Habitat and Thrivent.
  • Supervise the HTW volunteer engagement specialist and will work closely with Volunteer & Institutional Engagement and other internal HFHI partners to ensure strategic and operational alignment with HFHI’s Global Village program.
  • Form a deep understanding of both Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent to ensure strategic alignment, mutually beneficial goals, and effective operational coordination.
  • Stay abreast of and incorporate innovations and best practice in community development and volunteer programming to design cutting-edge community-centered volunteer experiences that engage the complex issues and systems facing communities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7-10 years of related experience with volunteer management, program development and implementation, strategic planning, leadership of teams, continuous improvement.
  • Previous volunteer program management.
  • Experience and success in leading & driving highly collaborative teams.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills.
  • Strong data analysis skills including ability to learn new systems quickly and high level of experience with Microsoft software including Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED – in addition to minimum:

  • Previous international program management experience.
  • Moderate or advanced knowledge of placed-based community strategies, affordable housing, human-centered design.
  • Experience with principles of equitable development or social/economic/environmental justice frameworks.
  • Master’s degree in one of the above fields.
