Associate Professor/Research/Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

 

The Department of Psychiatry at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting a full-time Associate Professor/Research faculty. The position will involve supporting all aspects of clinical research funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Division of Prevention, and Intervention. The faculty member will serve as co-investigator, clinical supervisor, educator, research therapist, and supervisor of research staff.

As co-investigator, they will assist with the implementation of the clinical research and collaborate on developing and submitting research grant applications. As clinical supervisor, they will provide supervision of postdoctoral fellows serving as research therapists and evaluators on multiple projects. As an educator, the faculty will assist in the training, supervision, and mentorship of postgraduates, graduate students, interns, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty members. As supervisor of research staff, they will supervise project coordinators and research assistants who work at Fort Hood to support the various ongoing research and clinical projects. Faculty members in the department have mentored 30 plus research staff who have been admitted into graduate programs.

The applicant must have a doctoral degree in psychology, behavioral sciences, social sciences, measurement and evaluation, program evaluation, or related field. Preferred qualifications are experience or strong specialization in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); experience and qualification as a trainer in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD: experience with program evaluation and quality assurance strategies; experience in grant submissions; board certification in respective field; a history of publications in peer-reviewed journals
