Job Summary
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a California licensed clinical psychologist (Psy.D or PhD) with a passion for providing therapeutic services to a dynamic and diverse, adult population. The clinician will provide 1) individual counseling services, psychological assessment, and referral services as needed, 2) organizational services including psychoeducational workshops/trainings, and consultation to various constituents of the organization and its leadership. The FSAP psychologist will exclusively provide wellness services to employees at UCSF with personal or work-related issues.
We are staffed by licensed psychologists and postdoctoral fellows. We work independently and as a team to provide services to dedicated scientists, healthcare workers, faculty, and staff who mirror the energy and dynamism of the San Francisco Bay Area and strive to redefine what is possible. As an employee assistance program, we address a broad and complex body of personal and work-related issues that impact mental and emotional well-being, such as job performance, burnout, interpersonal issues, alcohol and other substance abuse, stress, grief, family problems, and psychological disorders. We also work in a consultative role with leadership to address employee and organizational challenges and needs. Our department is active in helping the UCSF community prevent and cope with workplace violence, trauma, and other emergency response situations.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
FSAP is staffed by licensed clinical psychologists and postdoctoral trainees with experience and skill organizational psychology. Clinicians work independently and as a team to provide services to faculty, staff, postdocs, residents, and fellows. A broad and complex body of personal and work-related issues that impact mental and emotional well-being are addressed, including job performance, burnout, interpersonal issues, alcohol and other substance abuse, stress, grief, family problems, and psychological disorders. Clinicians work in a consultative role with leadership to address employee and organizational challenges and needs. The team provides the UCSF and UCOP community with support in cases of workplace violence, trauma, and other emergency response situations.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D degree in Clinical or Counseling psychology AND one year of post-doctoral experience in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
- Clinical Supervision skills
- Interest in organizational psychology
- Comprehensive range of clinical intervention skills — especially. in the area of brief treatment modalities
- Capacity to recognize, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for the full range of adult disorders and psychopathological conditions
- Strong foundation in organizational psychology and experience in assessing and executing interventions for organizational units experiencing dysfunction
- Professional-level writing, training, and presentation skills and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as a clinician in an EAP setting (esp. academic and/or medical)
- Experience working with medical residents and fellows
- Mediation/conflict resolution skills
- Experience in biofeedback (HeartMath)
- Some experience or interest in digital media
- Mediation / conflict-resolution skills
License/Certification
- California Licensed Psychologist
