Position Highlights | Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, College of Medicine Tucson at the University of Arizona is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. Traumatic peripheral nerve injury is a major medical problem with no universally accepted pharmacologic treatment. Damage to these nerves is typically associated with muscle weakness, atrophy, and functional loss or morbidity. Our laboratory currently focuses on understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms of peripheral nerve and muscle following trauma. The studies include both in vivo small animals (nerve and muscle crush or laceration injury) and in vitro cellular (Schwann cells, macrophages, skeletal muscle cells, etc.) experiments. Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; state retirement plan; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more! The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs.
