The Workforce Development and SBDC Programming Coordinator develops and implements non-credit workforce training and professional development programs and opportunities (workshops/courses) for the business community.

Essential Duties

  • Assesses current offerings and community and industry need for workforce development and customiz courses.
  • Programs customized workforce training and professional development programs and schedule of courses.
  • Initiates and develops contracts with employers seeking to provide customized training.
  • Identifies course/program, outcomes, instructors, costs and fees for institutional approval prior toscheduling.
  • Recruits, hires and supervises adjunct faculty.
  • Makes fee recommendations for courses and workshops. Initiates payment for facility usage, materials,and equipment as needed.
  • Works closely with community organizations, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), ClatsopEconomic Development Resources (CEDR) and Clatsop Works to develop inter-agency partnerships.
  • Promotes and markets area offerings among business community, industry, non-profit and institutionalpartners.
  • Maintains budget for program areas.
  • Works jointly with the Community Education Coordinator to provide leadership and training for part-titemporary employees, adjunct faculty and volunteers.
  • Monitors program outcomes to evaluate progress.
  • Works with Apprenticeship part-time faculty and local JATC to update and develop curriculum.
  • Visits classes to assist with registering Apprenticeship students and promoting statewide Apprentice AAdegree program.
  • Develops and implements non-credit professional development programs and opportunities(workshops/courses) for the SBDC’s small business owner community.
  • Leads the Development & Maintenance of Annual Calendar of Educational Workshops to Meet Center’sGoals (# of workshops, program income, registrations/ attendance)
  • Coordinates with the Office of the Registrar to track student registration information andstudent status updates.
  • Works jointly with Community Education Coordinator to provide coverage and assistance toCommunity Education when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Education or related field, and two or more years of experience in program development and educational planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Ability to and desire to enrich lives, inspire learning, and create opportunities.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of concepts and principles of educational instruction, including the abilityto initiate, coordinate, and schedule community education programming
  • Knowledge of outcomes assessment or other educational evaluation
  • Knowledge and/or experience developing and successfully working with business partners andadvisory groups
  • Knowledge and/or experience in marketing and advertisingSkills
  • Strong organizational planning, communication and customer relations skills (as applied to interacti with college administration, faculty, staff and students and the public)
  • Time management, task prioritization
  • Strong computer skills
  • Development of classroom instruction
  • Entrepreneurial methods to initiate and build unique educational opportunities
  • Problem solving and teamwork
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License

Desirable qualifications: Knowledge and experience with workforce planning and development; previous workforce education coordination experience.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
