Rappahannock Community College (RCC) is a two-campus institution serving a rural and diverse 12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, whose mission is to provide inclusive access to exceptional training and educational opportunities meeting the community’s needs and preparing individuals for success as learners, employees, and citizens. Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for a full-time Faculty Support Specialist who shares RCC’s values of integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, excellence, access, and learning for life. The Faculty Support Specialist manages, prepares and maintains the hiring processes for adjunct faculty; assists with faculty workload and overload reports, orders course materials, and serves as the liaison with the bookstore. Additionally, provides administrative support for academic divisions.

The Faculty Support Specialist will work closely with the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Director of Professional and Technical Programs, the Dean of Health Sciences and the Associate Vice President of Instruction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Administrative support experience in a professional office environment including customer service, communication via phone, email and with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent computer and computer application skills; experience with email systems, intranet and internet systems; effective written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented; strong organizational skills; ability to work with a diverse population; ability to work in a demanding multi-task environment; ability to work as a contributing member of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of database management systems. Experience in an educational environment such as a community college or adult workforce training setting; experience with data entry into student information systems.
