Full Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Dean for Nurse Education and Health Care Programs. This person shall be an administrator who, under the supervision of the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, is responsible for the Nurse Education and Health Care Programs, primarily located at the Passaic Campus of PCCC.

 

 

Examples of Duties:

  • Collaborate with the faculty to develop, implement and evaluate the programs of learning in Nurse Education, Radiography, Surgical Technology, Medical Assistant & Dialysis Technology Programs using current educational trends and recommendations of the State licensing and accrediting agencies
  • Provide leadership for faculty and staff
  • Develop and implement new programs that serve the community
  • Promote understanding and cooperation with the community health service agencies to secure the appropriate educational opportunities for students
  • Maintain a comprehensive record system
  • Assist faculty to maintain current curriculum, program licensure and accreditation
  • Maintain up-to-date professional competency by participating in continuing education, professional conferences, research and writing
  • Maintain relationships with college and health care facilities
  • Collaborate with faculty to annually review clinical agencies used for student clinical experiences
  • Recommend candidates for faculty appointment, reappointment, promotion and award of tenure to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs
  • Develop and maintain relationships outside the college with appropriate local, state, regional and national agencies and other programs
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure laboratories have state of the art equipment
  • Submit an annual report to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs on July 1 of each year
  • Prepare and administer the budget
  • Travel between PCCC campuses, partner and affiliate locations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Nursing required; Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • Minimum three years administrative experience in an academic nursing program; administrative experience in Associate degree program preferred
  • Earned at least 12 credits in education from an accredited college or university approved by the State of New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education or equivalent agency from another state with requirements substantially similar to the requirements of the State of New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education
  • Possess documentation that shows they have taken courses in or have professional or clinical experience in specific area of teaching
  • Current nursing license for the State of New Jersey
  • Strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, and administrator, and to understand students learning patterns, challenges and needs
