Job Summary

The Director of Workforce Solutions (WFS) directs the continuing education programs at Northeast State including short-term career training, incumbent worker training, work-based learning opportunities, and professional development training. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining partnerships with regional businesses and industries and directing the coordination of events and services with customers and resources within the College. The position works with TBR in records management and reporting. The administrative duties include budgetary responsibilities, supervision of full and part-time personnel, and strategic plan development and execution.

Job Duties

Manage the Office of Workforce Solutions, including full-time staff and part-time continuing education instructors.
Develop and implement the strategic plan leading to the growth of workforce development training and related events to meet/exceed community needs.
Develop and implement policies and processes pertinent to Workforce Solutions (WFS), within the WFS office and College-wide.
Partner with economic development entities to provide WFS services and training to attract new businesses and industries.
Serve as the flexible arm of the academic environment, providing training to credit standards as needed.
Partner with other divisions within the college and regional organizations to establish apprenticeship programs and administer training plans.
Promote and market all workforce solutions related opportunities, efforts, and programs for the college.
Matrix responsibilities for workforce development projects out of the Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM) including policy and process alignment, collaboration, communication, guidance, documentation, and reporting of RCAM-related WFS contact hours.
Coordinate documentation of all WFS activities to report contact hours in alignment with TBR initiatives and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Five (5) or more years of industry, manufacturing, business, or other relevant experience.
Experience cultivating community relationships and partnerships for education and training.
Experience with Workforce Development curriculum development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and knowledge of business management/leadership and adult education/training.
Community college experience.
Instructional and/or curriculum design skillset.
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the overall community.
Effective communication skills, supervisory skills, and leadership skills.
