Job Description

The School of Business (https://www.linfield.edu/academics/business) invites highly qualified applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business (Accounting) beginning Fall 2023. The position will support the accounting major. Applicants should desire to be part of a committed team of faculty which works together to deliver a high quality accounting education and experience to our students. Candidates need to demonstrate the ability to teach courses in accounting and be interested in teaching a variety of courses across the business curriculum including masters'-level courses. In addition to accounting, students in the Business Department complete majors in finance, international business, management, marketing, and sport management, and minors in management, sport management, and entrepreneurship. The Department of Business is guided by strategic plans at the university and department levels, and is supported by a Business Advisory Council of alumni and business partners. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Doctorate in accounting or a closely related field, or a masters' degree and an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, 2) evidence of excellence in teaching, 3) demonstrated potential for success in scholarly professional achievement and department/college/university service, 4) ability to work effectively with colleagues and students in a small university setting, and 5) demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to the highly qualified candidates who possess the following qualifications: 1) undergraduate teaching experience (highly desirable), 2) experience mentoring undergraduate students including first-generation students (desirable), 3) evidence of relevant professional experience in accounting (desirable), and 4) experience teaching entry-level, upper-level, and masters'-level analytics courses or evidence of relevant experience in analytics (desirable).
