Temporary Part-time Tutor
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides individual and/or group assistance (including computer-assisted tutoring) in basic reading, writing, and/or mathematics subjects.
- Recommends appropriate educational tutoring software and materials for his/her area of expertise.
- Encourages students to think and work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years experience in tutoring or current/former CCC student who has taken the course they wish to tutor received an A and has a faculty recommendation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic reading, writing, or mathematics skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work as a part of a cross functional team in an innovative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
- Working knowledge of electronic processing systems expected; facility with desk top software applications required.
