Rappahannock Community College ( RCC ) is a two-campus institution serving a rural and diverse 12-county area in the Chesapeake Bay region of Virginia, whose mission is to provide inclusive access to exceptional training and educational opportunities meeting the community’s needs and preparing individuals for success as learners, employees, and citizens. Rappahannock Community College ( RCC ) invites applications for a part-time Education Manager/Instructor who shares RCC’s values of integrity, diversity, equity, and inclusion, excellence, access, and learning for life.
The Education Manager/Instructor will serve as the college coordinator for the Rappahannock Education Consortium (REC) which provides high quality professional development to local school divisions. The Education Manager/Instructor also will teach education courses in the associate degree pre-teacher education program, oversee the early childhood development program, and advise students in both programs. The Education Manager/Instructor will work closely with the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Director of Professional and Technical Programs, the Training Coordinator and the Vice President of Instruction.
The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement through professional development, assessment, program and course development, and creating a collegial environment of civility, collaboration and open communication. This is a part-time position that has a maximum of 1500 hours per year. Candidates must be able to regularly work days and evenings.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
A Master’s of Education degree. Minimum of ten years in education in Virginia public schools, with at least five years as a principal and/or central office administrator. Current Virginia license in Administration and Supervision preK-12. Demonstrated ability to engage, provide support to, and motivate students to overcome barriers for academic success. Effective problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills, proficient in use of Microsoft Office, and strong presentation and facilitation skills. Availability to regularly work days and evenings.
