Position Summary | The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Instructor position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head. This position focuses on e- campus undergraduate instruction of General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. This position was created to meet growing e-campus demand and will teach e-campus general chemistry and organic chemistry in an asynchronous online environment without live class meetings. Oregon State University (OSU) is a recognized leader in chemistry e-campus (on-line) instruction. A master’s in science (MS) degree in Chemistry or closely required field is required. Prior on-line teaching experience and ability to develop new e-campus laboratory experiments are preferred. Relocation is optional and opportunities exist for on-campus instruction as well. The primary mission of the OSU Department of Chemistry is to provide a program of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral education in chemistry and to conduct research and scholarly activities focused on areas of chemistry important to human health, materials and the environment. The department offers BS, MS and PhD degrees in Chemistry and has a rapidly growing student body, including approximately 200 undergraduate majors and 3000 non-majors each year. The College of Science provides a core instructional role at OSU, supporting the ideals of learning, discovery, and engagement that are the foundation of a land-grant university.
