Under the Direction of the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Assistant Director of Early College, the Title V Early College Coordinator (ECC) works primarily within the Jerome School District to help students successfully define their education and career aspirations, while providing a broad spectrum of purposeful Dual Credit resources, services, and support. The ECC also advocates the value of a postsecondary education, helping students complete a pathway from Elementary school through Community College fostered by a Latino/a/x program. In addition, the ECC assists students with their “go-on” endeavors, while helping them establish their own sense of belonging in their secondary and postsecondary education.

Duties include providing a broad spectrum of purposeful student support services with dual credit, advanced opportunities, leadership development, transitioning to post-secondary education, while assisting students with successfully defining their educational and career aspirations.

This position will be focused on developing relationships with elementary, middle, and high school students, including specific support for the Dual Language Immersion program, concerted parent support and outreach, and our internal CSI partners by delivering programming to diverse audiences through an understanding and value of language, culture, and community. The ECC will also advocate the value of a postsecondary education, including workforce training, CTE, and apprenticeships, to help students achieve individual education goals.


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with a Latino/a/x - based program to assist students one-on-one and in small group settings to help students create their own academic and college plans utilizing Dual Credit course offerings and ensure a clear path to successful postsecondary education and access to career fields.
  • Actively engage and include students’ parents or guardians in the postsecondary planning process through various functions of the CSI Title V Program.
  • Assist Title V Program students in the completion of Early College enrollment processes which includes, but is not limited to: admission application, course registration, certificate of residency form, financial aid, and new student orientation registration.
  • Collaboratively work with Jerome School District personnel to develop a strategic plan which identifies and retains student participants in the CSI Title V Program, including Elementary, Middle, and High School students.
  • Coordinate college transition activities with respective campus offices and staff (i.e.- Admissions Office, Advising Center, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid Office, Office of Student Affairs, faculty, department chairs, and focus area advisors).
  • Enthusiastically participate in high school sponsored functions that promote college attainment which include post-secondary testing and school sponsored tours.
  • Collect, retrieve, and analyze student intake information through the Jenzabar and PowerSchool student information systems, while also exchanging student information with high school officials in a secure, approved manner.
  • Diligently works with high school teams to form relationships with Administration, Counselors, College and Career Advisors, Advanced Opportunities Coordinators and Dual Credit Instructors to facilitate information back and forth from Department to High Schools programs monthly.
  • Proactively establish regular parent outreach.
  • Connect students to the State of Idaho Advanced Opportunities state aid in order to help students navigate their K-12 education and provide support to earn college credit in high school.
  • Assist with Title V professional development Dual Credit functions throughout the year.
  • Stay in close contact with surrounding area business and workforce agencies so as to receive up-to-date information on high tech industry jobs and skills in demand.
  • As part of the CSI Early College team, work in and between assigned high schools as needed to provide additional service and support to students and school partners.
  • Serve as the postsecondary transition coordinator for the Title V Program student caseload at Jerome middle and Jerome high school locations.
  • Assist high school staff, students, parents, and CSI Student Services teams with Dual Enroll processes and application.
  • Proactively works as an integral partner with the CSI Admissions Recruiting and Enrollment Specialist teams to assist and support students through the transition and enrollment processes.
  • Actively work with the internal systems (Power BI) and reports to track, monitor, and utilize data to assist with ECC goals.
  • Work with assigned CSI specific Academic Departments to facilitate information back and forth from Department to Early College programs monthly.
  • When not serving at high schools be proactive in reaching out to students, as well as a campus contact for phone calls, students’ walk-ins, and email services.
  • Collaboratively work with school district personnel to develop a strategic plan which identifies and retains student participants in the Early College program.
  • Utilize IR data tools to collect, retrieve, and analyze student information at the respective high schools for recruiting and transition purposes as a regular job functionality.
  • Proactively explore new ideas to enhance the Early College team operations.
  • When available, participate in campus events with the ECC respective high schools in attendance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Idaho State Board of Education Advanced Opportunities Governing Policies and The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships Accreditation Standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • 2 or more years of experience in higher education preferred.
  • Experience working in K-12 and collegiate settings preferred.
  • Experience with Admissions, Recruiting and Transition processes preferred.
  • Experience with Dual Credit and Advanced Opportunities preferred.
  • Associates degree (Bachelor’s degree in Leadership or Higher Education, or related field preferred) from an accredited college or university.

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Two or more years of experience involving exceptional student/customer service.
  • Written and oral bilingual skills in English and Spanish

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING PREFERRED:

  • Experience with Admissions, Recruiting and Transition processes preferred.
  • Experience with Dual Credit and Advanced Opportunities preferred.

 

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Road travel to various high school sites.
  • Ability to work flexible as schedule may include late afternoon, evenings, and occasional weekends during certain periods of the year.
  • Will require the use of a personal, reliable vehicle. Mileage relating to and from high schools from an established base (campus or off-campus center) will be reimbursed at the institutional rate.
