Job Description

Summary

The University of Michigan Procurement Services strives for excellence in all we do, which is why we are searching for an Administrative Project Coordinator to join our Space Analysis team. Space Analysis is the official steward of university space and location data. The unit oversees an annual inventory of all university owned and occupied space and makes location, square footage, and occupancy updates as they occur throughout the year. Space data is used for state, federal, and university reporting requirements. Many university operations rely on this data to fulfill their duties.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, possess technical skills, independent problem-solving skills, excellent communication, good follow-up skills, and strong attention to detail. 

Responsibilities*

  • Provide exceptional customer service by serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on all matters Space Analysis related
  • Elevate issues for management to review when not able to accomplish deadlines
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain and provide accurate data
  • Organize and develop activities for the implementation of U-M’s annual space survey
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures, job aids, training materials, and written communications
  • Review and validate departmental space inventory changes/updates
  • Maintain building table and room table data accuracy by collaborating with other departments to obtain accurate space data for building tabulation updates, building renovations, new building additions, and new buildings
  • Space Analysis website maintenance

Required Qualifications*

  • Associates degree or 2 years of experience
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, ability to function effectively in an active, engaging environment
  • Experience using business office software effectively including Google Suites, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to build successful relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge of U-M policies and procedures
  • Experience with U-M systems such as MPathways and Business Objects
