Full Job Description

The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) seeks to hire a Digital Communications Specialist to support the digital and communications efforts across multiple channels of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the FAF itself.

This is a full-time hybrid position in Norwalk, CT that reports to the Senior Manager of Digital Content and Operations. The key job responsibilities and qualifications follow.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Senior Manager of Digital Content and Operations to ensure accurate and appropriate messaging in social media and all digital communications
  • Assist in determining and executing digital operations strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, schedule, and share daily social content utilizing Sprout Social that builds greater awareness of and engagement with the activities of the FASB, GASB and FAF
  • Assist in creating graphics for use in digital initiatives utilizing Canva and/or Photoshop
  • Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Manage and maintain editorial and publishing calendars as well as syndication schedules
  • Support all email outreach efforts and assist with content creation for email communications through MailChimp and Dynamics 360 CRM
  • Utilize Sprout Social reporting tools and Google Analytics to pull data and metrics on performance and digital results
  • Prepare and populate social media, email, website, and podcast performance metrics in digital reporting templates
  • Assist with project management of new website design project and all other related duties

Requirements and skills

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing as a digital communications specialist or in a similar role
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Solid research, analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Sprout Social, MailChimp, Dynamics 360 CRM, SurveyMonkey, Canva or similar platforms preferred
  • Knowledge of the major social media platforms especially LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Experience building, managing, and optimizing email lists and ensuring successful sending of emails
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Positive attitude, collaborative approach, detail oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Fluency in English
  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations
