The Song Laboratory at the UMass Chan Medical School (www.umassmed.edu/songlab ), located in Worcester, Massachusetts, United State, is seeking to fill Postdoctoral Fellow openings on the development of functional biomaterials (shape memory polymers, anti-infective coatings, synthetic viscoelastic hydrogels) for skeletal tissue regenerations and interrogating cell-material interactions as a function of defined synthetic cellular niche properties. Current research in the Song laboratory is supported by the National Institutes of Health R01 grants as well as state and university funds. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to work both independently and collaboratively, and contribute to a productive and cordial team environment.

Requirements:

• Recent PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Bioengineering, Biology or related discipline
• Interest in applied and translational research
• Expertise in either synthesis and characterizations of functional materials or probing cell-material interactions
• Experience with animal studies desired but not required
• Self-motivated and organized, enjoys collaborations, good written and oral communication skills
