Position Summary:
 
The Office of Inclusive Excellence drives UCI's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. This commitment is fundamental to advancing the campus' mission as a public research university. To this end, the office provides institutional accountability, mounts training and education, conducts responsive research, and builds and sustains partnerships with universities and colleges that share this commitment. The mission is to establish UCI as national leader and global model of inclusive excellence, where all faculty, graduate and undergraduate students expect equity, support diversity, and practice inclusion.
 
Under general supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the incumbent supports Office of Inclusive Excellence projects, events, marketing, and communications. Programs and events supported include UCI ADVANCE, equity advisor, UCI SEA Change, DECADE, UC President’s and Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Program, UC-HBCU initiative, minority-serving institution initiatives, and various award and educational offerings. Incumbent performs a wide variety of analytical and administrative tasks including web updates, event logistics, and development of communications. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations. Note: This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with one day remote. Could request a second remote day after successful training and integration into the office.

$25.57 - $45.02 (hourly)
 
Required:
 
  • 3+ years experience preferred in a professional position within general administration.
  • Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and general usage of a personal computer.
  • Ability to learn online systems, including google work space. Knowledge of or ability to learn Wordpress desirable. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
