Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders upto 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy. 
Shift
Primarily Days Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends may be required due to experimentation. 
Job Summary
Postdoctoral position in Professor Tim McClintock’s laboratory on a collaborative project at the interface of sensory neuroscience and Alzheimer’s Disease. The applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a life science field and the ability to lead a collaborative project. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Desired expertise and experience include recombinant DNA techniques, immunohistochemistry, genomics, bioinformatics, and the biochemistry of neurodegenerative disease. The project is an opportunity to develop a robust line of research investigating mechanisms explaining why olfaction is an early symptom of neurodegenerative disease. Stipend is based on experience and competitive institutional guidelines. Possible start dates range from April 1 to July 1, 2023.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Expertise in recombinant DNA techniques, immunohistochemistry, genomics, and bioinformatics.

Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease research, lipidomics, and programming in R.
