Class Description

The purpose of this position is to provide a professional level of student support services ranging from academic/occupational advising, case management and employer engagement in order to successfully support student completion, and successful outcomes for employers, funders, grants, and contracts.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, social services, human services, counseling, or similar area.  Master's degree preferred and two (2) years of experience in employment development, student or career services required. 

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned PT Associate and adjunct faculty staff.
  2. Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with CCBC’s mission.
  3. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  4. Maintain department records and files, as required.
  5. Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
  6. Represent and promote the college at networking events, affinity groups, and business and industry associations.
  7. Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Establish, develop and maintain employer relationships to identify labor needs and student placement/employment opportunities for Continuing Education programs and students
  2. Establish, develop and maintain relationships with community groups and organizations to recruit students for Continuing Education workforce development courses and programs.
  3. Provide career direction and guidance for students who enroll in Continuing Education programs that lead to certifications and credentials required for employment.
  4. Focus on job development and career guidance in program areas with assigned placement performance metrics (i.e. Federal, and State eligible programs).
  5. Utilize and analyze EMSI, MWE and other labor market data sources to identify labor demands and employer opportunities.
  6. Maintain working relationship with Continuing Education Program Coordinators and CCBC Career Services to provide mutual benefit and sharing of employment and career information.
  7. Arrange for student employment interviews for successful program completers, and for potential employers, both on CCBC locations and off.
  8. Counsel students to learn new behaviors and remove barriers.
  9. Conduct Life Skills/Job Readiness trainings for students and work with students to develop individual job search plans and career plans.
  10. Conduct intake and assessments on all students for assigned Continuing Education programs.
  11. Assist students with transitional services (i.e. housing, transportation, childcare, license and other supportive services) as required.
  12. Provide retention services to assigned students, assisting them through completion and into employment.
