Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System whose main campus is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a comprehensive community college, the College provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson. Approximate Salary range for nine-month faculty: $46,000-$70,000 depending on education and experience.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Master of Arts/Fine Arts degree in English or English Literature, or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English or English Literature
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college
- Experience with online teaching and using technology in the classroom
- Experience advising and mentoring college students
- Willingness to take an active role in departmental leadership and curriculum development
