The Director of Admissions, Enrollment & Outreach is unique in that it plays a significant role in two key entry areas for students - Enrollment Services (ES) and Outreach & Recruitment (O&R). It plays a significant role in outreach related to supporting our local community for access to education. The position is responsible for examining outreach and recruitment, registration, and degree conferral practices in order to address the opportunity gaps in access, retention, and completion with regard to diversity, equity and inclusion.
 

The Director of Admissions, Enrollment & Outreach provides leadership for Enrollment Services and Outreach & Recruitment. This position serves on the Students, Equity & Success (SES) Directors Team and reports to the Dean of Student Access & Advising. In collaboration with the Dean of Access and Advising, the director assists in designing and assessing the strategies used to recruit, admit, and enroll a diverse entering class.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
 

  • Lead and direct Enrollment Services as Registrar managing budgets, FERPA training, and compliance, admissions, registration, residency, transcript evaluation, diploma production, degree and enrollment verification, petitions, website updates, electronic filing system, state reporting, and other related tasks.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Outreach and Recruitment team to ensure annual target setting, recruitment activity assessment, and proactive follow up to applicants.
  • Serve as Campus Solutions (CS) pillar co-lead for new student information system, ctcLink (an Oracle PeopleSoft product).
  • Supervise 10 full-time employees in Enrollment Services and Outreach & Recruitment as well as student/temporary staff.
  • Ensure alignment of Outreach and Recruitment functions that require partnership with admissions, with enrollment services, with financial aid, and with academic advising.
  • Manage the maintenance of security and access to student records, complying with FERPA and State standards and American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) best practices; oversee the computerized recruitment and admissions Inquiry Management System (IMS)
  • Work in coordination with Director of Advising, Running Start, and First-Year Experience to ensure Running Start enrollment is maximized

 

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution with at least two years of direct experience;
OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least four years’ direct experience;
OR Minimum of 8 years of direct experience
  • Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience in student services or related area
  • Familiarity with an information system such as PeopleSoft or a similar student information system

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Strategic enrollment management principles and practices
  • Leadership principles, including the principles and practices of effective supervision
  • Applicable laws, rules, ordinances, and regulations related to Registrar/enrollment activities
  • Budgeting management including compliance within funding requirements at state/federal levels

SKILL IN:

  • Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness
  • Training, supervising, and evaluating staff, including the practice of effective leadership
  • Effectively communicating (orally and written) with individuals at all levels inside and/or outside of the College with clear and concise information
  • Handling difficult or sensitive situations using sound independent judgment within legal guidelines

 

Conditions of Employment

 

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). Administrators are assigned to work on campus, noting there may be some opportunities to work remotely based on program or area needs. If authorized for limited remote work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. When working on-campus, this position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, using the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. This position also works work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required.
 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:
This is a full-time administrative/exempt annually contracted position with initial salary placement determined by the College dependent upon education/experience. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
