Job Details:

Mercer University is searching for a Director of Graduate Admissions on the Macon, Georgia campus.

 

Responsibilities:
The Director is responsible for all phases of recruitment and admissions for Macon based and online business graduate programs in the School of Business. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment travel, inquiry development, business partnership development, application completion and review, student interviewing, professional presentations, and correspondence. Working with a great degree of independence, the incumbent reports regularly to the assistant vice president of enrollment management, but will work cooperatively with the Dean, all Academic Program Directors, as well as staff members engaged in admissions, alumni and development, and career service functions.
 
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and three years of experience, which must include experience with admissions, working adult recruitment and higher education administration. Candidates must have working knowledge of student record databases, spreadsheets, word processing and database computer applications.
 
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires some travel.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Sound knowledge and experience of recruitment, admissions and financial aid
  • Database enrollment management techniques
  • Ability to implement ‘state of the art” marketing and recruitment strategies
  • Planning, organizing and management skills
  • Leadership and team building skills
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for letters, mailings, etc.
  • Understanding the specific needs of working adult students
