Summary:

The Manager of Research Grants and Contracts, reporting to the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute (ACRI) Vice President of Administration and Facilities, oversees research grants and contracts administration and writing and editing services. The Manager is the principal administrator for the organization’s externally funded research grants and contracts and serves as the primary contact and advisor between ACRI and external funding officers. The Manager manages the organization’s centralized grant proposal development and writing and editing staff and oversees administration of ACRI’s intramural grant programs.

Description
1. Responsible for the management of ACRI's centralized grant proposal development staff including hiring, training, supporting, developing and supervising personnel.
2. Ensures staff members are adequately trained to efficiently and correctly respond to inquiries, primarily posed by ACRI investigators, regarding grant proposal preparation.
3. Serves as a resource for ACRI investigators and leaders ensuring that they have the information needed to effectively and compliantly obtain and manage grants and contracts. Oversees intramural grant program.
4. Ensures staff members are adequately trained to efficiently and correctly respond to inquiries, primarily posed by ACRI investigators, regarding grant proposal preparation.
5. Evaluates workloads and prioritizes the work for the grant proposal development and science and grant writing/editing staff.
6. Fosters relationships with sponsored programs officials, administrators at collaborating organizations, and ACRI research scientists and administrators to ensure.
7. Ensures that budgets are created, proposed and administered in a fiscally responsible manner.
8. Reviews policies and operating procedures and recommends and implements policy and procedural changes to enhance research grants and contracts administration.
9. Reviews and submits all proposals on behalf of ACRI.
10. Manages the organization’s science and grant writing staff.
11. Other Duties as assigned.
