Job Description

Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately for recent PhDs in the area of human genetics and mouse model research, in the laboratory of Dr. Bernice Morrow. The goal of our lab is to identify genetic modifiers of congenital heart disease in patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q) and testing discoveries in mouse models. We are analyzing coding and non-coding regions from whole genome sequence from over 1,200 individuals with 22q to identify rare DNA variants. We are also performing single cell RNA-seq of mouse embryos to translate discoveries found in human patients. Prior experience in computational analysis, mouse models or molecular biology is needed. Good communication skills in English are required to interact with members of our group. The laboratory is in a new building located on the main Einstein Campus, in the northeast part of the Bronx, NY, within a 30 min commute to Manhattan.

If you are interested in the position, please send a short letter stating why you believe you would be a good candidate for the position, the names and email addresses for three references and a detailed CV to bernice.morrow@einsteinmed.edu
