Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the Derecka Lab in the Department of Hematology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to study transcriptional regulation of the bone marrow niche. The major research goal of our group is to gain mechanistic insights into cellular cross communication between bone marrow microenvironment and hematopoietic compartment, in steady state and pathophysiological conditions. You will have the opportunity to develop new exciting projects involving changes of bone marrow microenvironment and its impact on aging blood system; transcriptional dysregulation of bone marrow niche in hematological disorders and bone marrow niche-induced changes of chromatin landscape in hematopoietic progenitors. In this position, you will have a chance to lead your projects and mature into fully independent researcher. Successful candidate will gain an experience in genome wide technology, CRISPR-Cas editing, mouse models and stem cell biology.

St. Jude offers a cutting-edge scientific and training environment, combining both clinical and basic research. Postdoctoral research fellows are provided with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a professional development allowance.

Minimum Education

Applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., a record of publication, and experience with molecular, biochemical, and cell biological techniques. Applicants with expertise in mouse models and working with hematopoietic stem cells are encouraged to apply. Please send a cover letter describing research interests and accomplishments, CV, and the names and addresses of three references to marta.derecka@stjude.org .
