Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pharmaceutical Sciences

Job Description

A bioinformatics postdoctoral position is available in the Savic laboratory to study the pharmacogenomics of treatment in childhood leukemia. The primary research focus of the Savic laboratory involves studying the gene regulatory architecture of pediatric leukemia to define how the noncoding portion of the human genome impacts chemotherapeutic drug response, chemotherapeutic drug resistance and leukemia relapse. To address these critical questions, the Savic laboratory applies various orthogonal functional genomic assays and high-throughput screening approaches to identify and functionally characterize genetically and/or epigenetically disrupted cis-regulatory elements impacting childhood leukemia pharmacogenomics. The long-term goal of the Savic laboratory is to gain a better understanding of the genetic and epigenetic underpinnings of chemotherapeutic drug resistance and relapse in childhood leukemia.

Minimum Experience

The candidate should have expertise in bioinformatics/computational biology, statistics and next generation sequencing data analysis and integration of diverse functional genomic assays (e.g. ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq/DNase-seq and RNA-seq). Additional experience in gene regulation and epigenetics is highly desirable.
