Part-time computer lab aide and tutor for Visual Art & Design students.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide group, or one-on-one technical/computer tutoring as needed to Visual Art & Design Students
- Offer tutoring for programs from Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Keep lab neat, organized, and clean
- Report software, hardware or other issues to the lab coordinator and department heads
- Keep printers stocked with paper and ink/toner
- Assist lab coordinator to reconfigure lab as needed
- Under lab coordinator’s direction, assist in keeping software up-to-date
- Assist with lab assets inventory
- Facilitate property surplus protocols
- Perform basic equipment servicing and repairs
- Make determinations and submit orders of lab-related supplies and materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer software proficiency and operations capabilities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of Adobe Products: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and MacOS or higher operating systems
- Good customer service abilities
- Time management to coordinate time between students and appointments
- Ability to effectively work with students and colleagues in an academic setting
Special Instructions
- A combination of day and evening hours for approximately 20 hours per week
- Create a schedule of hours so students know when there is help available
