SUMMARY

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE
MINIMUM HIRING SALARY: $41,419.00 annually
MAXIMUM HIRING SALARY: Depends on qualifications

Manage and administer all aspects of the student financial aid program of the college including the Federal Title IV Programs and other national, state, local and institutional grant, scholarship and loan programs. . Position reports to Associate Vice President of Student Services.

  • Receive, interpret and implement policies, rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to the administration of federal and state financial aid programs and veterans education benefits.
  • Coordinate state agency grants and awards by serving as a liaison with agency representatives to administer state awards.
  • Prepare detailed federal and state applications and reports to secure funding and to report on the expenditure thereof as required by college officials and governmental agencies; maintain clear audit trail on all programs for State and Federal auditors.
  • Process student aid applications and need analysis forms, package financial aids awards and establish records to reflect financial aid funds awarded.
  • Attend state and federal financial aid and veterans affairs workshops for the purpose of seeking and receiving advice and counsel concerning the administration of financial aid programs.
  • Counsel students and parents on financial aid policies and procedures including the presentation of financial aid workshops on campus and off campus.
  • Design forms, letters and brochures for use by students, staff, parents and high school personnel to interpret the administration and implication of local, state and federal developments in financial aid.
  • Ensure the maintenance of timely and accurate input and retrieval of financial aid data through computerized processes.
  • Coordinate all financial aid programs with the Business Office staff for the purpose of ensuring proper fiscal control; implement and direct the charge/payment procedure to properly credit the student's financial aid account in the Business Office.
  • Assist the Veterans Affairs Representative with Veteran Assistance Programs
  • Ability to effectively manage a financial aid office; to include supervising financial aid staff.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to balance multiple job duties and prioritize tasks; including assigning task to financial aid staff.
  • Ability to collaborate with other campus departments to administer Financial Aid.
  • Knowledge of the various operations in transmitting and retrieving financial aid data, and packaging financial aid awards.
  • Acquire computer/technology competencies as appropriate to the position.
  • Assist with equipment and software maintenance.
  • Maintain security of personal computer access.
  • Perform other professional or job-related duties as assigned.
  • Serve on college committees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Skills

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting; Financial
Management or related field.

Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Financial
Management or related field. Bilingual; Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)

Experience

Required: Experience working with student financial assistance programs and processing student financial aid awards. Computer records management experience.

Preferred: Some experience directing a college Financial Aid office.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus. May require travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
