Job Description

EGCC is now accepting applications for a Proctor. The purpose of this position is to facilitate a secure, quiet, and productive environment for scheduled testing. This could include GED, ATI (TEAS), Accuplacer, TABE, Pearson Vue, or accommodated classroom testing.

Saturday availability is preferred.

 

LOCATION

This is an on-campus position that will work at either our Steubenville or Youngstown location. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serves as proctor during testing sessions 

  • Distributes and collects testing materials 

  • Processes test material and test scores  

  • Maintains confidentiality and security of all testing materials, test logs, and other test documents, and administer exams per Testing Center rules 

  • Maintains a quiet atmosphere appropriate for testing 

  • Obtains and maintains certification in GED Examination, ATI, Accuplacer and TABE (required within 90 days of starting this role)  

  • Adheres to professional practices consistent with Pearson VUE, GED Testing  and Eastern Gateway Community College 

  • Is available for various testing days and times (day, evening, Saturday) and at various locations 

  • Works closely with testing administrator to address any concerns at testing site 

  • Participates in annual GED graduation activities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.  

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. 

  • One year’s experience in teaching, counseling, training, or testing is preferred. 

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Proficiency with basic computer functions is required. 

  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, and Word.  

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships using strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to communicate well, both verbal and written. 

  • Must possess integrity, enthusiasm, determination, and dependability. 

  • Must be outgoing and people oriented.  

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues.  

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
