We are currently seeking an Assistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Development who will assist the Dean of Operations in the development, coordination and maintenance of the Continuing Education, Technical and Workforce Development program at the Moore County Campuses in accordance with the Amarillo College policies and procedures.

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred: Master’s Degree

EXPERIENCE

  • Required:
    • Three (3) years of experience in Education, Business, or industry.
    • Three (3) years of teaching and/or administrative experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in community college administration and teaching.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily operations, as well as hiring, training, and development of team members.
  • Serve as Project Manager of specialized administrative projects assigned by the Dean as needed for the growth and development of the campus, including grant writing, customized training design and implementation.
  • Supervise Physical Plant employees and approve facility usage requests.
  • Supervise classified staff, student workers and faculty as assigned.
  • Open/Close campuses.
  • Lead the Workforce Advisory Committee.
  • Schedule classrooms for classes and training.
  • Assist with Success Coaching initiative and processes for technical and continuing education students.
  • Assist with JBS Better Futures and Quest Scholarship Programs.
  • Responsible for building level oversight of campus and campus activities under the direction of the Dean of Operations – MCC.
  • Assist with student services activities including New Student Orientation, career exploration seminars, outreach and recruiting events.
  • Serve on the Administrative Leadership Team and as the Amarillo Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) grant program liaison.
  • Coordinate ESL (English as a Second Language) instructional delivery.
  • Coordinate the communication for promoting campuses such as marketing and advertising.
  • Create lists of quality continuing education courses in Personal Enrichment, Occupational Education and Contract training.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling of technical courses and program delivery at Moore County Campus and Moore County Career and Technical Center (MCC/MCCT)
  • Oversee the MCCT Webpage (both technical and continuing education) and assist with technology in the building.
  • Assist, advise and register students for classes in academic or continuing education.
  • Assist students with financial aid questions, FAFSA and coordinate scholarship activities.
  • Assist with developing campus budget and monitor incomes and expenditures.
  • Complete various reports, documentation and evaluations and performance assessments/evaluations as assigned.

Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu), Pay grade 14 (salary is determined by human resources based on education, work experience and equity)

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices, buildings, campuses and other various locations in the performance of assigned duties. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and or/maneuver office supplies and presentation materials as needed.

 

Working Environment: This position works in a professional office setting in addition to various locations according to the needs of committees, meetings, community involvement, and collaborative initiatives. Self-sufficiency is critical.
