Summary of Position

The Mathematics Program at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire, invites applications for two non-tenure track Teaching Faculty positions to commence in August 2023. Successful applicants will join an existing team of dedicated, innovative individuals and should share their strong commitment to teaching and student success. The Program offers B.S. degrees in mathematics and in mathematical data science. Teaching Faculty positions are full time, with benefits, and with annual renewal based on performance and need. The teaching load is 30-32 credit hours per year.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters in mathematics or a related field
  • College-level teaching experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in mathematics or related field.
  • Experience teaching abstract algebra, analysis, mathematics education or statistics courses
  • Experience teaching students of a wide variety of ability levels and disciplines
  • Competence in technology and innovative course delivery strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students across the college.
  • Skills to serve as an academic adviser and mentor for undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide variety of learners, including first-generation students.

Duty/Responsibility

Teaching faculty are expected to teach 15-16 contact hours/semester.
Responsibilities include teaching mathematics content courses for the
General Education program, teaching upper-level undergraduate courses,
advising students, and service.
