Class Description

Working under the guidance of the Director Veterinary Program, to independently provide instruction in entry-level or career improvements topics.

Minimum Requirements

 

High school diploma/GED and three years' experience as a Veterinary Technician. Associate's Degree, with college level teaching or adult education with online learning platforms and two years of experience preferred. Current certification in a Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) required.

Proficient computer technology knowledge with hardware and software packages, especially all Microsoft Office software.  Must have a valid driver's license, with a good driving record.

·         Compensation within the above posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

 

 

 

Class Specific Essential Duties

1.       Seek continuous improvement in teaching (classroom and on-line) methodology and student centered learning.

2.       Stay current in Veterinary Science and Veterinary Clinical Assistant discipline.

3.       Maintain scheduled availability to students and staff

4.       Assist Program Director with daily management of the Veterinary programs.

5.       Assist other faculty in developing, managing courses, and curricula.

6.       Assist in student recruitment and selection.

7.       Maintain laboratories, supplies and equipment.

8.       Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, practices, and Veterinary Science.

Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
