Postdoctoral position to study RNA biology

Job Description


We are looking for a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work on RNA biology in mammalian cells. The position is in the laboratory of Dr. Jernej Murn in the Department of Biochemistry at UC Riverside and is fully funded by NIH and NSF grants.

A successful applicant will take a lead role in projects within the scope of our main areas of interest pertaining to 1) the communication between RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) and the effectors of RNA processing, 2) regulatory roles of RNA modifications in development, cancer, and neurological disorders, and 3) non-canonical functions of ancient RNA-based enzymes.

Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. with less than two years of postdoctoral experience. Candidates will also have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and/or bioinformatics and computational biology, as evidenced by publications.
