Description of Work Unit
The Department of Accounting is one of five departments in the College of Business. The Department has a strong record of research and teaching accomplishments and expects faculty to be active in the academic community.
The Department of Accounting currently has 14 full-time faculty members. The department offers a Master of Accountancy degree and an undergraduate concentration in accounting. The Master of Accountancy and the undergraduate program have outstanding career placement rates and are consistently the top programs in the state for graduates passing the CPA Exam. CSU is located 60 miles north of Denver in the city of Fort Collins. Colorado has earned a worldwide reputation as an area that offers an unparalleled lifestyle. Position Summary
Conducting research leading to scholarly publication in leading academic journals along with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in accounting. Demonstrating the ability to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities is important.
The College of Business (COB) has prioritized impactful, informative research that utilizes environmental and social responsibility to promote the COB brand and achieve Business for a Better World. We expect the postdoctoral fellow to contribute to the mission of the COB by producing impactful research in collaboration with the Department’s faculty.
The Department of Accounting in the College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellow position focused on Accounting. The start date is August 2023. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Required Job Qualifications
Applicants must be pursuing a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. To be considered, candidates must have a focus on audit archival research and provide convincing evidence that their doctorate degree will be completed before August 15, 2023. The search committee will verify this by contacting the graduate school of the individual’s program. An established record of publishing empirical research in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals, or a demonstrated potential to do so, is also required. Candidates must also have the interest and ability to effectively teach courses in accounting areas of need and conduct research with colleagues.
Preferred Job Qualifications
We seek individuals in the area of audit archival research who aspire to develop research programs with current CSU faculty. The ideal candidate would also (a) have the ability to translate the results of empirical research analysis (b) complement our research strengths while bringing new dimensions to our research profile.
We are interested in individuals who value collegiality, and whose research would complement the interests of our existing faculty. Evidence of the potential to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction and integration is preferred.
