Postdoctoral research associate (Molecular Mechanisms of Learning and Memory)

Job Description

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in the lab of Dr. Cristina Alberini, in the Center for Neural Science at New York University.

The candidate will focus on the identification of molecular and cell biological mechanisms underlying learning-dependent protein metabolism homeostasis regulation, which is critical for the formation of long-term memories. The regulation of protein metabolism is altered in several brain diseases such as neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases and the project should be able to identify novel relevant mechanisms both in healthy brains and in diseases. The project will employ rodent and/or human systems (iPSC) and multi-level technical approaches to address questions at the molecular, cellular, bioinformatic, and behavioral levels.

Salary will be commensurate with research experience and based on the NIH guidelines for postdoctoral research associates, trainees, and fellows.

A PhD in Neuroscience, Biology or associated area is preferred. Experience in molecular and cell culture techniques and animal behavior is strongly preferred.
