Overall purpose of the position: Employee is responsible for assisting the TEFAP Compliance Manager in the evaluation processes of existing and new Maryland Food Bank (MFB) TEFAP partners in accordance with Feeding America (FA), Federal (DHS) and State (USDA) guidelines. Employee will identify and support the operating needs of TEFAP providers related to training, data integrity, reporting and compliance, while also overseeing relationships with TEFAP partner agencies to ensure proper food storage and distribution of TEFAP commodities into the network. Employee will conduct annual monitoring compliance visits within Northern, Southern, Central & Western Regions, and will help ensure MFB is audit ready.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree strongly preferred.

Experience: At least 4 years’ experience in customer service is required. Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics capacity is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required as well as an MVR showing no prior DUI/DWI’s and fewer than 2 points against the license. The ability to read, write and speak English is required.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

60% Monitoring/Evaluation: Coordinates all activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of new Maryland Food Bank TEFAP partners, ensuring compliance with Maryland Food Bank, FA, DHS, and USDA guidelines. Contributes to all activities related to monitoring existing Maryland Food Bank TEFAP Partners, ensuring compliance with Maryland Food Bank, FA, DHS, and USDA guidelines including assessing TEFAP partner needs and making recommendations for support, including Maryland Food Bank sponsored TEFAP annual Civil Rights compliance and food safety trainings.

40% Administrative/Partner Support: Maintains departmental files according to Maryland Food Bank, FA, DHS, and USDA guidelines. Supports the Operations and Programs Departments in reaching departmental goals for capacity building; TEFAP product inventory movement, distribution and systems improvement through compliance monitoring, monthly reporting, and record-keeping. Provides technical assistance to TEFAP partners related to membership with the Maryland Food Bank including TEFAP requirements and processes in alignment with annual DHS requirements.

Essential Working Conditions:

Work Environment:

The employee will carry out job duties from inside a professional office environment with little fluctuation in temperatures and low noise or may carry out job duties outdoors at TEFAP partner site locations. For offsite duties, the employee travels by automobile and will be exposed to changing weather and noise conditions.

  • Represents the Maryland Food bank at meetings and other related functions, as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
