The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Catering Event Specialist, within the Morris Inn. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
The Catering Event Specialist is responsible for working alongside the events team to provide an elevated hospitality experience. The Catering Event Specialist is a member of the hospitality department within UEE. This individual manages a portfolio of both internal and external clients and events. This position is responsible for the planning, logistics, revenue forecasting, maintaining partnerships and contracts necessary for ensuring high quality food and beverage events across campus. The Catering Event Specialist serves as an event liaison for the University of Notre Dame overseeing details of the dining and catering requests. The Catering Event Specialist will monitor an individual event budgets and confirm all food and beverage needs, including any catering partners. This will require a strong relationship and understanding of the Three Leaf Catering menus and seasonal offerings. The Catering Event Specialist will ensure events are flawlessly developed and executed; delivering the highest level of customer service for both internal and external clients and provide customized solutions throughout understanding their clients and utilizing this knowledge to plan and execute events seamlessly from start to finish. This result comes from staying organized, paying attention to details, understanding the food and beverage expectations, and handling multiple client queries at any given time. Fluency in EMS and BEO creation is vital to this role. Operationally, Catering Event Specialist must ensure execution primarily by working closely with onsite Event staff including Event Specialists, Operations Specialists/ Banquet Managers and Banquet Event Captains in a fair and equitable manner. Catering Event Specialist is a highly visible position and is critical to the overall success of Three Leaf Catering and Hospitality within UEE.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
- 1 to 6 months of related work experience
- Strong team player well versed in all aspects of Event Management, with an emphasis on relationship building
- Advanced MS Office skills required
- Ability to adapt and learn new/different systems
- In-depth knowledge of University policies, procedures and operations.
- Organization, multi-tasking skills as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills.
