Description of Work | The Interpersonal Violence Research Laboratory housed within the University of Nebraska’s Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families, and Schools seeks a Research Manager with broad administrative and research operations management experience to support a complex research group to work under the direction of a faculty director. The job responsibilities of this role are all-encompassing and the person in this position will perform duties including but not limited to: administrative assistance (e.g., ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, and managing lab operations. Minimum Required Qualifications | Associate’s degree in business management or related field plus 3 years’ relative experience; equivalent education/experience will be considered. Work history will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, administrative, time management, and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet stringent deadlines across a number of large-scale projects. Strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software technologies; ability to work with faculty director, postdoctoral scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, project coordinators, other lab staff, and community partners, in varied locations, in timely and professional manner. High levels of efficiency, accuracy, and independence in completing all tasks. Experience with Excel or spreadsheet software. Must be a Self-starter. Some work may require evenings and/or weekends but this should be minimal. |
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field or equivalent experience. Five (5) years of previous experience with budget preparation/oversight and personnel management, preferably in a university context and with grant-funded projects. Experience with Qualtrics or other online survey platforms. Experience with Concur or other purchasing and requisition software. |
