General Description

The Department of Population Health Sciences seeks a postdoctoral research fellow to collaborate with researchers in the Duke Center for Childhood Obesity Research. The focus of DCCOR is to provide effective and equitable obesity prevention and treatment to achieve optimal health for all children. DCCOR includes clinical and population health researchers, with varying specialties, and the fellowship training is aimed at promoting such transdisciplinary research partnerships.

A postdoctoral fellow in the position will engage in the active research of DCCOR, including an implementation science study of a clinic-community partnership for obesity treatment, and additional projects as appropriate. The fellow will also work to develop their own research portfolio, to enhance their career following the fellowship.

The fellow will work with mentors to create their own Individual Development Plan for the period of the fellowship.

Required Qualifications

A doctoral-level degree (e.g., PhD, DrPH) in public health, nutrition, exercise science, or related field.

Special Skills

Needed skills include experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis; prior research in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, or pediatric obesity; demonstrated ability to develop research proposals and complete research manuscripts.
