The Opportunity

The Department Educational Leadership and Higher Education in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor position.

The ideal candidate will join faculty members whose expertise is sought in professional organizations, editorships, and research cooperatives, most recently as the Associate Partner in the EU-funded research 2014-2017: Doctoral Supervision of Multi-Disciplinary Practice Based Doctorates . Program faculty also establish and contribute to unique partnerships with a diverse set of education and community-based organizations in Florida and beyond to serve urban, suburban, and rural constituencies. Primary responsibilities of this position include teaching research courses in the Educational Leadership program at the master’s and doctoral degree levels.  Additional responsibilities may also include mentoring graduate students by advising, chairing dissertations, participating on dissertation committees as a research methodologist, collaborating with other academic programs, seeking and procuring grant opportunities as well as teaching research courses within other departmental programs.  The selected candidates may also serve on departmental, college, and university-wide committees and contribute to continued program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Educational Research Methods, Educational Leadership, or closely related field, by start of appointment and expertise in quantitative research methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experience in PK-12 contexts, including school level and school-district level contexts, and state or national educational policy organizations.? Experience in teaching quantitative research methodologies.  Experience in preparing emerging or practicing school or educational leaders for leadership in PK-12 or related educational contexts as well as demonstrated success or strong capacity to generate external grant funding, and collaboration across academic programs and with external stakeholders.
