Summary

Logistics is seeking a qualified and reliable candidate for the position of Stockkeeper IV to join our Material Services team.  The Stockkeeper position is a key part of Materials Services that assists the needs of units across campus. This role requires an individual with excellent customer service skills, a strong sense of self-motivation, and a demonstrated ability to work in teams.

Responsibilities*

  • Operate Hilo, pallet jack, and lifts as needed.
  • Receive and put away Lumber, Metal, and MRO inventory.
  • Enter and process material receipts via computer.
  • Must keep areas clear of pallets and debris.
  • Assist with inventory set up, cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Be able to track transaction information in Excel as needed.
  • Reconcile stock shortages and verify inventory, including the preparation of records of inventory transactions.
  • Determine nature and extent of damage to stock and take initial steps in the preparation of a damage claim.
  • Advise customers regarding stock choice based on availability and unit requirements, and recommend substitute items.
  • Participate in inventory control procedures.
  • Clean assigned area of work and equipment.
  • Deliver stock to requisitioning unit by motor vehicle.
  • Electronically maintain inventory and/or search for inventory across warehouses.
  • Electronically send orders to Buyers.
  • Electronically receive parts, materials, or surplus for kits and warehouse inventory; scan documents and attach them appropriately.
  • Prepare materials for return to supplier or for property disposition disposal. Process paperwork and documentation of return.
  • Electronically change status on material requests; adding notes, as needed.
  • Counter Release - Electronically release inventory to a work order/phase at time of issue.
  • Electronically transfer materials/inventory from one warehouse or department location to another.
  • Initiate the set-up of refrigerant tanks for storage; prepare documents for distribution to craft.
  • Provide customer service to University and department standards.
  • Direct scrap to appropriate recycling stream.
  • Comply with Federal, State, and University environmental, health & safety requirements.
  • Evaluate surplus merchandise for salability and selling price.
  • Select methods of storage and stock location.
  • Prepare bills of lading and related shipping documents using charts, schedules and manuals.

Required Qualifications*

  • Ability to move/position items weighing 100+ lbs. This work is often repetitive.
  • Must have valid driver's license with less than 7 points and be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record verification .
  • Minimum 5 years operating mechanical or hydraulic lift trucks and other motor vehicles i.e., hilos, aerial lifts and power jacks.
  • Minimum 5 years experience filling orders for MRO commodities.
  • Must have STRONG computer skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to complete metal conversions from lengths to pounds.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have an understanding of inventory and equipment management; at least 3-5 year of experience.
  • Must be able to track information in Excel as needed.
  • Must be able to examine and identify stock to verify conformance to purchase order specifications.
  • Must be able to participate in inventory control procedures and perform physical inventory of stock items.
  • Excellent Customer Service

Desired Qualifications*

  • At least 1 year experience with Asset Works Software (FMS).
  • At least 1 year inventory control experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of MRO parts.
  • At least 1 year receiving dock experience.

Work Schedule

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
