Data Analytics and Finance Administrator

Job Description

DATA ANALYTICS AND FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to partner with team members and internal/external customers to design, develop, and deploy high quality business intelligence (BI) solutions that meet CSAIL’s current and future needs.  Will implement, monitor, and support BI solutions; perform analysis and develop data solutions to help solve real problems and assist with the implementation of these solutions; and use data to support CSAIL financial reporting and maintain a small financial portfolio.  Responsibilities include understanding and supporting the team's long-term strategic objectives, conducting ongoing, planned, and ad-hoc analysis; writing SQL or other querying code to extract, manipulate, and analyze data; ensuring the quality and accuracy of data and analytics methods; and participating in new technology evaluations and ensuring alignment of lab data and analytics practices with enterprise data processes and practices.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; five years’ experience with logical and physical data modeling concepts and working with design, architecture, development, and implementation one of the following--Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, Qlikview, and/or MS Power BI; ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and translate the information accurately; attention to detail; strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organizational, process management, and oral and written communication skills; intermediate-level knowledge of analytical tools, methods, and statistical concepts; knowledge of research administration, finance, and accounting; and ability to multitask, convey information clearly and concisely, and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment.  PREFERRED: financial administration experience in a university, hospital, or nonprofit organization; experience working with federal sponsors, including NSF, DoD, and NIH; knowledge of general accounting principles; and experience with Cognos, Tableau, and BrioQuery.  Job #22347-8
